Residential vs Commercial Solar Systems
All of us, whether a business owner or a homeowner, is looking to increase their use of solar energy. But did you know that not all solar panels are made equal? Yes, commercial and residential solar systems are not the same as you would imagine.
When considering green energy for your home or company, there are some variations between domestic and industrial solar panels that can help you understand the systems. These variations in solar energy systems decide the power, scale, layout, and colour of residential and business solar panels.
Here are some main distinctions between residential and industrial solar systems.
When it relates to the difference between an industrial and a residential solar panel, size is an important factor to consider. The size of commercial solar panels is larger than that of residential solar panels. An industrial solar panel has an average size of 78 inches x 39 inches with 96 cells, while a residential solar panel has a size of 65 inches x 39 inches with 72 cells. Many homeowners are having commercial-sized solar panels installed on their homes because they provide more electricity. As a result, it is prudent to choose commercial-sized solar panels for your house.
The efficiency can also depend on the size and the type of solar panel. It can be the deciding factor in the Good vs Bad Solar battle.
Industrial and residential solar panels are installed in the same manner as roof-mounted systems using a bolted racking system. Industrial solar panels are usually simple to install since they are attached to a flat roof using a non-penetrating ballasted mount system.
Industrial solar power systems may use a mounting system that does not touch the roof, making installation much easier. Home solar systems for households require the panels to be installed flush against the roofs, which necessitates a much slower and more diligent installation process. Commercial systems can take up to a month to deploy, while residential solar panels typically take one or two days.
Efficiency and Production
Industrial solar panels can produce more power than small home panels because they have more cells and deem themselves to be larger than residential panels. In terms of performance, commercial solar panels (19.6 percent) outperform residential solar panels (18.1 percent). However, the cost of solar panels for both models is almost the similar. For instance, we measure the cost of 5kw solar panels by the amount of power they generate for a residence to be the same as the cost of an industrial system
Shade or Colour
Industrial solar panel systems are accessible in white, while residential systems are available in either white or black. White solar panels are by far the most common solar panels for both domestic and industrial applications. Residential customers typically prefer black panels on a black backing, whereas commercial customers prefer black panels on a white backing.
If you’re thinking about installing solar panels for your home or company, make sure you understand all of the differences outlined before you begin!
